July 14, 2010 (CHICAGO) --A Cook County Sheriff's deputy is accused of attacking a handcuffed man in a courthouse holding cell. Rafael Munoz, 34, of Norridge is charged with battery and official misconduct. The sheriff's department says the charges follow an internal investigation about the alleged incident in June 2010.
The alleged victim was awaiting a bond hearing at the time.
The sheriff's office says Munoz has been de-deputized while awaiting trial.
