Randy Caudill remains jailed, but his bail is now $100,000 after originally being set at $200,000.
The 34-year-old Caudill could post a $10,000 cash bond as well.
Investigators say Caudill and another man were planning to steal money from the suspected drug dealer during a traffic stop.
Caudill is an eight-year veteran of the Downers Grove police force.
