Someone could be about to miss out on a $250,000 lottery payoff.

According to ABC7 news partner the Daily Herald, the second place ticket in the Mega Millions game was purchased in Des Plaines a year ago. It was sold at the 7-Eleven store on Lee Street. The ticket matched five of the winning numbers but missed the Mega ball.

If the winner doesn't come forward by Friday the money goes to the state's school fund.
