"When we got there we saw the building in flames," said Officer Espinoza, Chicago Police Department. "We saw a lady in there. We knew the building was occupied, so we went in there and tried to get the people out. They were in a dead sleep, so we had to grab about four people out of there, out of one of the apartments that was on fire."
The fire was contained to one room. No other injuries were reported, although six adults and three children have lost their home.
The cause is under investigation.
