Loop restaurant left without phone service

July 29, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The Loop restaurant the Italian Village hasn't had phone service since Saturday. The owner says business is down at least 50 percent this week due to people not being able to call in orders or reservations.

The staff gave away pizza on Thursday in an effort to spread the word that they are open. "People don't know if we're open or not. It's been a very frustrating experience. We've talked to several different people, they keep telling us a different time, a different day and nothing gets done," said Al Capitanini, restaurant owner.

An AT&T spokesperson says the company has had technicians working around the clock to restore service to affected areas.
