The adult obesity rate has reached nearly 27 percent and is steadily rising, according to the CDC.

As freshmen prepare to head off to college, they may want to carefully consider living in a dorm with dining facilities.

A new study shows students who live in dorms with dining halls are much more likely to gain the dreaded "freshman 15."

Female students are more likely than male students to pack on the pounds.

The same study found that the farther students live from the gym the less likely they are to exercise.

The research appears online in the Journal of Adolescent Health.
