August 7, 2010 (CHICAGO) --Gov. Pat Quinn was at a downtown Chicago office supply store Saturday reminding families about the state's the sales tax holiday.The tax holiday started Friday and continues through Sunday, August 15. For those 10 days, families don't have to pay the 5-percent state sales tax when buying school supplies.
Shoppers from neighboring states can also receive the discount.
Also Saturday, Quinn helped distribute backpacks to students with the organization Inner Voice.
