Chicago to spray for mosquitoes on NW Side

August 18, 2010 (CHICAGO) No West Nile virus cases have been reported in Chicago this year so far. But mosquitoes carrying the virus have been trapped in the Forest Glen neighborhood.

Crews will start spraying the area starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The spray is not considered dangerous to people or pets, but it may be a good idea to keep windows closed as a precaution.

The mosquito population is much larger this summer because of increased rain levels.
