1 dead, 2 hurt in NW Side cab-motorcycle collision

The driver of a cab is dead after a wild crash on the city's Far Northwest Side just after 6 a.m. Monday near Peterson and Nagle. A taxi collided with a motorcycle before the cab slammed into a garage and a boat that was sitting in a driveway

Authorities say the cabbie, a man believed to be in his 30s, died at the scene.

The motorcycle rider fell off the bike and was taken to Resurrection Medical Center in good condition. He was wearing leather equipment, which may have prevented more serious injuries. It was unclear whether he was wearing a helmet. A 36-year-old male passenger inside the cab also suffered minor injuries. The driver of cab was on his way to O'Hare.
