Home Run Recipe: Cheeseburger Royale Pizza

Cheeseburgers and pizza -- both show up on a list of youngsters' favorite foods.

To celebrate the beginning of a new school year, Chef Jeff Hursh from Home Run Inn Pizza in Chicago has created a special kids' pizza. Grownups are welcome to try his recipe for Cheeseburger Royale Pizza with Bistro Sauce. The pie is not complicated and the kids will have fun helping you prepare it, he says.

Home Run Inn, HomeRunInn.com has been making pizza for Chicago families since 1947. The popular pizza makers are offering a special family deal on Sunday, August 29. To celebrate going back to school, youngsters 12 and under will pay $1 for an eight-inch pizza (one pizza per child). They can choose Cheese, Cheese & Sausage or Cheese & Pepperoni pizza. The offer is good on dine-in pizzas only at the chain's full service restaurants. The first 100 kids at each restaurant will receive a free Back to School supply pack. Cheeseburger Royale Pizza

Bistro Sauce

  • 1/2 Cup Hellman's Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 Tsp Horseradish
  • 1 T Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 Tsp Paprika
  • Dash Hot Sauce
  • Pinch Black Pepper
  • Combine all ingredients and refrigerate

    Cheeseburger Pizza

  • 12 inch pizza crust (your favorite)
  • 4oz Pizza Sauce
  • 8oz Lean Ground Beef
  • 1/4 Cup Diced Onions
  • 1/4 Chopped Dill Pickles
  • 4 slices American Cheese
  • 6oz Mozzarella Cheese
  • Roll out your crust to 12 inches, add pizza sauce, top with ground beef broken into small bite size pieces, add onions and pickles, top with American and mozzarella cheese. Bake at 425 degrees until golden brown. Remove from oven

    Top cooked pizza with Bistro Sauce, Shredded Lettuce and diced Tomatoes
