Rough lake waters as search for man continues

September 4, 2010 (CHICAGO) The Coast Guard and local firefighters in St. Joseph Michigan have been searching for 26-year- old Timothy Horvath.

Police say he and two other men took a rubber raft into a choppy lake Saturday afternoon. Somehow the men got separated from the raft.

Two men made it back to shore, but Horvath may have been caught up in a current and is presumed drowned.

This weekend's early shot of autumn-like weather is stirring up big waves and powerful rip currents in Lake Michigan.

A rip current advisory is in effect through Sunday morning for Chicago area beaches and those in northwest Indiana.

Beachgoers are advised to take extra precautions if they must go in the water.
