This year's stars line up includes: Chicago Bears NFL Hall of Fame inductee, Dick Butkus, (this year's event honoree); Chicago Blackhawks legend, and NHL Hall of Fame inductee, Stan Mikita; Chicago White Sox baseball player and MLB Hall of Fame inductee Carlton Fisk; Ann Meyers Drysdale, 1980 Olympic silver medalist for the women's' basketball team, President and GM of Phoenix Mercury Women's' Basketball team; and Pittsburgh Steelers and NFL Hall of Fame inductee, Franco Harris. Dan Jiggetts, sports media personality, will emcee this event.
The evening features a VIP cocktail reception, dinner, silent and live auctions. A special live auction will be "An Evening with Gale Sayers" goes to the highest bidder. Mr. Sayers brings his highlight films from his playing days at The University of Kansas and The Chicago Bears to the recipient's residence for a catered event.
The Gale Sayers Center curriculum includes computerized classrooms and academic tutoring. The mentoring and motivation programs features outstanding business, civic and sports leaders, teaching children that education is the key to long term success. Developing public speaking skills is another integral part of the Gale Sayers Center. The Gale Sayers Center is a 501(C)-3 not-for-profit organization.
