Construction worker hit on Stevenson dies

September 18, 2010 (CHICAGO) The worker, 33-year-old Aurelio Rosales, was struck Friday afternoon on the Stevenson Expressway in Forest View.

State police say the trucker was exiting southbound at Harlem Avenue. Construction allows traffic to only turn left, but police say the driver instead turned right and hit the worker.

Rosales died Saturday morning at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

The truck driver has now been cited with failure to stop in a construction area, making an improper turn and disobeying a traffic control device.
