New FEMA office opens for Chicago flood victims

A new location has opened in Chicago to help flood victims in the city apply for disaster assistance.

The new center is located at 95th and King Drive at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center. It's Fema's third location in the city. The North Side Disaster Recovery Center is located at 4905 North Avenue (former Old Navy Store) in the 37th Ward. Hours of operation for both locations are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.The Central area Cicero DRC is located at 5410 W. 34th Street.

Residents hit by severe flooding that followed storms and torrential rains back in July can apply for help.

The deadline for applying for flood assistance is October 18.
