Police release person questioned in infant's drowning

The person Chicago police were questioning about the weekend drowning death of an infant has been released from custody.

On Saturday, officers were called to a home in the 8300-block of S. Hermitage in the city's Gresham neighborhood.

They found the 5-month-old infant unresponsive. Relatives told police the child rolled off a bed and into a bucket of water that was next to the bed.

An autopsy determined the infant drowned, but the circumstances of his death remain undetermined.

Police say their investigation continues.
