Police investigate attempted N. Side abduction

Chicago police are investigating the attempted abduction of a girl en route to school after getting off a bus near Belmont and Hoyne.

Police say it occurred near 3114 N. Hoyne Friday at 7:40 a.m. According to authorities, the offender was waiting at Hoyne and Belmont and followed the victim southbound on Hoyne where he allegedly grabbed her arm and dragged her into the alley. The offender stopped when other people approached and ran, police say. The victim ran to her school and alerted security.

The offender is described as a male white, 5'10", 160 lbs with a light-complexion, strawberry blond hair, light eyes and a orange-colored goatee. Police say he is in his mid-20s and was wearing a baseball cap.
