Hub 37: Where technology meets art!

Hub 37, located in the Pedway at Block 37, will be "where technology meets art" during Art Loop Open. A series of unique opportunities created by IIT, with Microsoft technology, will allow the public to discover more about the artists - and share their thoughts with other Art Loop Open participants! The centerpiece will be the Overview Wall, holding 200 unique magnetized tiles, each displaying one piece of art in the show. Visitors can place the individual tiles on a specially-created Comment Wall to write their thoughts about it and invite others to respond, or can place the tile on a Microsoft Surface table to find additional information about the artwork and the artist. A Pivot Kiosk will allow visitors to explore the ALO art using Microsoft Pivot grouping technology, while a live Twitter feed screen will display a running commentary about Art Loop Open, constructing, in real-time, a collective art visualization.

The Art Loop Open is a continuation of these initiatives, and encourages Chicagoans and visitors alike to engage with each other and the art," said Ty Tabing, Chicago Loop Alliance Executive Director. "There is a rich history of public art in the Loop, and we are proud to augment it."
