Power of Parents 2010 Conference

October 18, 2010 Joining us this morning to tell us more about is Robert Runcie, Chief Administrative Officer for Chicago Public Schools. He is joined by Maria Ramirez, a parent advocate with the King Elementary School on the city's West Side.

(PRESS RELEASE) Power of Parents 2010 Conference, October 26th and 27th at McCormick Place Judge Glenda Hatchett and Rev. Al Sharpton will be featured speakers at the 5th Citywide Power of Parents conference, October 26th and 27th and McCormick Place.

It's the nation's largest parent participation conference and this year's theme is "Empowering you with the Tools You Need to Help Your Children Succeed."

Rev. Sharpton will talk about the importance of education and his new syndicated television show, "The Education Superhighway." Judge Hatchett will challenge the audience from her new book, "Dare to Take Charge: How to Live Your Life on Purpose."

Speakers and workshops will focus on the importance of parent engagement and motivating parents to participate.
