Metra to test out quiet cars

October 19, 2010 (CHICAGO) Metra is planning a pilot program that would designate quiet cars on its commuter trains. The plan could be in effect as early as next year.

Passengers in quiet cars will be asked to refrain from using cell phones, talking loudly or operating electronic devices without headphones.

Metra first wrote about the plan in its October issue of "On the Bi-Level" newsletter and has been gathering comments from riders about the plan. To offer your feedback, email onthebilevel@metrarr.com.
