Three congressmen are joining the call to demand that hundreds of Chicago Public School teachers get their jobs back.

The teachers union says highly qualified, tenured teachers should be reinstated. School officials let them go because of budget problems.

"Our students deserve to be taught by the best teachers, not simply the most affordable teachers," said Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D).

The congressmen and union leaders says there is money in a federal fund that could be used to return the teachers to the classroom for this school year.
