October 25, 2010 (CHICAGO) --With just eight days until Election Day, the race for President Barack Obama's former U.S. Senate seat is a virtual dead heat.A new Chicago Tribune poll shows Republican Mark Kirk holding a slight lead over Democrat Alexi Giannoulias.
Kirk has 44-percent and Giannoulias 41-percent. Seven- percent of those polled were undecided. The poll has a margin of error of 3.7 percent.
Kirk is also eclipsing Giannoulias in fundraising by a 4-to-1 margin.
