Seals concedes congressional race in 10th District

Democrat Dan Seals released a statement Wednesday morning conceding to Republican Robert Dold in the race for the 10th Congressional District.

Statement from Dan Seals on election outcome:

"As you may know, we were not prepared to concede this race last night because while we knew it was not probable, it was also not impossible to win. After this long journey, I wanted to make certain that every vote was counted. Now that we have more information, it has become clear that we were not victorious.

Most importantly, I want to thank my wife Mia and my whole family for their support and sacrifice, as well as the thousands of supporters, volunteers, and staff members who put their unconditional faith in me. I truly appreciate your friendship and perseverance, and I will always be grateful for it.

I'd also like to congratulate Bob Dold, who I know will work hard to represent the 10th District well.

While I will not be serving as Congressman, I will continue serving our community for years to come and fighting for those who need our help.

Thank you again, for everything."
