It could cost $100,000 to replace playground equipment that was set on fire in the northwest suburbs.

The equipment is at the Alcott Center in Buffalo Grove.

Video surveillance confirmed that at least two people were in the area of the playground at the time of Friday night's fire. According to park district officials, the two appear to be middle school or high school age.

The playground will remain closed throughout the winter until the park district is able to replace it in the spring.
