Study: Hospital checklists reduce complications

November 11, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The checklist included about 100 items, covering pre-operative care, the operating room itself, recovery or intensive care and post-operative care. The study in the New England Journal of Medicine found checklists reduced complications by one-third, and hospital deaths were cut in half.
