According to ABC7 news partner Daily Herald, 1,378 people from suburban Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties have refunds waiting. The average refund is $1,108, the IRS tells the Daily Herald.
Nationwide, 111,893 taxpayers can get $164.6 million in refunds.
Taxpayers can find out about refunds at irs.gov or by calling (800) 829-1954. The Daily Herald, dailyherald.com compiled a list of the suburban people who are owed money.
