Rich Fox, a spokesman for AT&T said a contractor working on a water main break near Laramie and Lake streets severed a cable line Tuesday. Crews worked overnight to reach the AT&T cable, Fox said, only to find they were damaged by water from the main break. They remain on the scene and are digging for dry lines.
AT&T has received more than 150 calls about the phone outage. Officials from the phone company said service may be out for several days.
