Early detection is key in fighting breast cancer, but there has been a question about the best way to detect tumors.A new study in the Journal of Clinical Oncology compares mammograms to MRIs.

The study involved more than 2,000 women with a high risk of breast cancer.

They received a mammogram and an MRI for an average of five years, and 97 cases of breast cancer were detected.

Nearly 43 percent of those cases were found only by an MRI.

The authors concluded that an MRI is better than a mammogram.
