Fire destroys home in Cicero

Fire damaged a house in west suburban Cicero early Tuesday, leaving 10 people homeless.

Authorities believe the fire may have been started by a Molotov cocktail.

The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

A spokesperson for the Town of Cicero says an incendiary device was thrown at the back of the house, setting the stairwell on fire.

Four people were living in the attic and escaped down that stairwell, which was the only exit for them.

Six others escaped from lower levels of the house.

No one was injured.
