Crohn's disease may cause PTSD

Six hundred participants with Crohn's disease underwent PTSD assessment. Nineteen-percent of them were found to have the disorder.

Researchers then found that the Crohn's patients were more than 13 times likelier to experience worsening symptoms than those without PTSD.

PTSD is usually triggered by violence, natural disasters and emergency situations. But a growing body of research shows that serious illness may trigger the psychological condition.
