Young girl with illness takes stage in Chicago

December 11, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Isatu Cissoko, who has sickle cell anemia, took the stage Saturday at the LaSalle Power Company on Chicago's Near North Side.

The usually fatal disease affects the body's ability to produce healthy red blood cells. Thanks to Macy's and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Isatu was able to grab the spotlight. They also helped her with a makeover before her big debut.

The girl's 9-year-old brother Lassana is also a star. He donated some of his bone marrow to help keep his sister alive.
