FAA: Midway lease plan due July 31

December 14, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The Federal Aviation Administration is waiting to see whether the next mayor will move forward with the lease.

Back in 2008, the city approved a $2.5 billion Midway lease. But that deal collapsed during the global financial meltdown.

Midway holds the one slot the FAA has reserved for large airports in the privatization program. The FAA says the city has until July 31 to submit a lease plan.
