Environmental groups lay out 'green' plan for next mayor

January 6, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Among those involved are The Alliance for the Great Lakes, Friends of the Parks, and the Respiratory Health Association.

One speaker said that Chicago has become a leading green city under Mayor Richard M. Daley. But they believe there is more to be done and they hope the next mayor shares their vision.

Some goals they have include improving the city's recycling program, increased funding for the CTA and the development of high-speed rail.
