Christmas trees recycled in Wrigleyville

January 10, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The Chicago Cubs lent a hand by offering the use of the parking lot at Wrigley Field.

The Wrigleyville remodeling firm Mahogany Builders filled the lot with discarded trees hauled from neighborhood alleys and curbsides. The Mulch Center of Deerfield will turn them all into organic mulch.

Forty-fourth Ward alderman Tom Tunney and Chicago's Green Corps helped coordinate the event and provide manpower.
