Christopher Doehring is charged with two counts of murder, home invasion and armed robbery. He was in jail already facing charges in another robbery.
Angelina Escobar, 19, and Alex Santiago, 24, were found shot to death in their apartment on North Sunnyside.
Police say Doehring forced his way into the apartment, shot the couple and robbed them.
Police say Doehring was recorded on a phone call from Cook County Jail admitting he shot both victims.
