A city snowplow driver called 911 at approximately 6 p.m. Monday after he saw a man lying in the street on the city's South Side in the 300-block of West Pershing Road.
The victim has been identified as 65-year-old Robert Felice.
Police are looking for a semi-truck with a tanker and red, extended cab that was last seen speeding eastbound on Pershing Road about the time the man would have been struck.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police Major Accident Investigation Unit.
