The 57-year-old was waiting for a bus at State and 69th streets Wednesday when a car apparently jumped the curb and hit her. She was transported to a local hospital and is now in critical but stable condition with several injuries. Friends said she lost her leg in the incident.

The car involved was a light gray Buick LeSabre. The female driver and a female passenger reportedly ran from the scene to the CTA station at 69th Street and the Dan Ryan Expressway at approximately 3:45 p.m. They had not been found early Thursday.
