Antonio Vazquez, 46, died late Wednesday night. He and his son Kevin were struck by a semi on Ashland Avenue near 18th Street back on March 20, 2010.
Kevin died from his injuries and Antonio was critically wounded at the time.
An autopsy is being conducted to determine if Antonio's death was also a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
The truck's driver was ticketed for striking a pedestrian.
