Twelve-year-old Children's Memorial patient Gabby Reese, a brain tumor survivor, will serve as the patient champion and will officially kick off the race.
Many of the steppers are honoring loved ones who have been cared for at the hospital or who have been patients themselves. The event is expected to raise $600,000. It will benefit the fundraising efforts of K.I.D.S.S. for Kids, an affiliated organization of Children's Memorial Hospital, and the hospital's Family Services department.
ABC7 is the media sponsor for this event. ABC7's John Garcia is the spokesperson.
