Group wants answers in NW Ind. child death

January 28, 2011 (GARY, Ind.)

The group Concerned Citizens against Violence in Gary passed out flyers Friday.

Members hope someone will come forward with information in the death of 13-month-old Josiah Shaw.

On January 28, 2008, someone stole his mother's SUV with the little boy inside.

When police found it, they found Josiah in his car seat with a gunshot wound.

"We need to fight and take our city back. We need to let people know that we're not taking this mess anymore. And that we're going to speak out regardless of whether they're our next door neighbors or not. Let's stop being afraid. Let's step forward," said Frank Washington, Sr., who is with the organization.

Josiah's mother Kwana was also shot in the carjacking but survived her injuries.
