Located in northwest Indiana, Simply Amazing Market has a wide range of gourmet goodies.
"We produce 15 flavors of popcorn, 15 flavors of fudge our specialty is gift basket creation we create shipping boxes-birthday in a box which can be shipped anywhere in the world," said Bobbie McDonald.
McDonald is the operating manager of Simply Amazing Market, which is part of Opportunity Enterprises. It is an agency that provides services to people with disabilities.
"Each of our individuals has unique challenges but each one of our individuals bring unique skills and abilities," McDonald said.
Individuals work at least six hours a day and get paid minimum wage.
"We have a waiting list. People are anxious to be a part of this and we're anxious to continue to grow so that we can provide work for more clients," McDonald said.
Since Valentine's Day is coming up, Simply Amazing Market has a lot to offer.
"We have chocolates that are provided by a local chocolatier. We have our fudge in variety flavors, popcorn in all flavors," McDonald said.
Our price range is up to $50 for a basket. We have economical products in now. In the fall, we went to a line of more inexpensive items because of the economy," McDonald said.
One busy work worker is Sherri Ligocki.
"There's a lot of stuff to do," Ligocki said.
Rick Witmer has many responsibilities.
"I work in the shift and make popcorn and bake popcorn and bake candies," Witmer said.
"These individuals bring a skill set to the table that I haven't seen in any other individuals," McDonald said. "It's very difficult to have a bad day in an enterprise like this."
