The trip is being scheduled for early April and follows a visit to Chicago by Chinese President Hu Jintao last month. "Our long range goal is to make Chicago the most China-friendly city in the U.S.," Daley said at a dinner honoring President Hu in January.
A mayoral spokesperson says Daley will meet with business leaders interested in making public and private investments in Chicago. He also hopes to help local companies interested in the fast growing Chinese marketplace. This would be Daley's fifth trip to China in recent years.
