Officers responded Friday night to a call of a person down in the 500-block of East 79th Street at approximately 6:30 p.m. A 24-year-old man was found unresponsive in a snow bank and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office identified the man as Antonio D. Williams, of the 8000-block of South Eberhart Ave.
An autopsy on Saturday found he suffered a gunshot to the chest and his death was a homicide.
Calumet Area detectives say they are conducting a death investigation.
