A high school student being held at Cook County Jail on a burglary charge is now accused of trying to hire someone to kill a female witness in his case.

Juan Vanga is charged with solicitation of murder and murder for hire.

Vanga is a junior and a football player at George Washington High School in Chicago.

Prosecutors say he told another inmate about plans to hire someone to kill a female witness to the burglary he is accused of committing. Investigators say Vanga then offered money to an undercover officer to carry out the murder.
