President votes in Chicago mayoral race

February 17, 2011 (WASHINGTON)

A White House spokesperson confirms the first family's vote, but the president has declined to say who he supported.

However, late last year Obama had warm words for Rahm Emanuel, his former White House chief of staff. Those words have been repeated over and over again in campaign commercials airing for Emanuel in Chicago.

Emanuel stepped down from the White House position in December 2010 to run for Chicago mayor.
