A standoff at a home in suburban Glenwood ended with the death of a man.
It started Thursday afternoon around 2 p.m. Police say Robert Lyons pointed a gun at a firefighter who was distributing free village address markers.
Officers confronted the 67-year-old man as he stood at the front doorway.
Police say he fired several shots before an officer returned fire, killing Lyons.
