I-57 crash snarls inbound traffic

The crash happened at approximately 5:55 a.m. on Interstate 57 at Sibley Boulevard (147th Street) and involved one vehicle that went through a guard rail, an Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper said.

The vehicle was headed inbound when it crashed, and at least one person suffered minor injuries in the crash, the trooper said.

According to ABC7 traffic reporter Roz Varon, northbound traffic on I-57 was backed up for at least 1.5 miles shortly before 7 a.m.

State police say they are investigating.
