The Chicago Flower & Garden Show - the Midwest's premier gardening exhibition for professionals and consumers alike - returns to Navy Pier on Chicago's lakefront Saturday, March 5, through Sunday, March 13.
The show's theme, "The Sport of Gardening," plays on Chicago's great sports legends, while showcasing new ways to think of gardening as a sport and to get inspired by a variety of activities. Members of the garden community, along with Chicago's sporting teams, have worked to design engaging and motivating gardens created by leading garden professionals who fuse indoor and outdoor sports with the artistry of horticulture.
Terry Guen Design Associates, the acclaimed Chicago-based landscape architecture and urban design firm, has once again designed the show floor layout giving it an urban city feel. Chicago's beloved sports teams including the Bears, Blackhawks, Cubs, White Sox and Bulls, will provide themes for several of the gardens created by top landscape designers. In addition, Chicagoan's favorite pastimes will serve as inspiration for the gardens, including a memorabilia garden and tribute garden.
Now in its 17th year, the Midwest's annual horticulture and landscape showcase is designed to inspire, educate and motivate the masses. This year the show has multiple sponsors, including Smith & Hawken IKEA, Affinia Hotels, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Dish Network, PRP Wines, JULIE, Inc., Belgard Hardscapes, Birki's, Respiratory Health Association, Unilock, American Airlines, Pepsi and Harry Caray's Restaurant Group. It is owned and produced by Special Events Management with the support of the Mayor's Office and Navy Pier.
