ABC7 Chicago is told the fire started just before 6 a.m. Sunday on the back porch of a house in the 8600-block of South Colfax.
Two children reportedly suffered smoke inhalation and were being treated at Trinity Hospital.
A Chicago Fire Department official said the cause of the fire was unknown Sunday morning.
