Tony Stallone with www.Peapod.com visited the ABC7 studio to show us how to cook mussels.
The shellfish contain a lot of healthy Omega-3 oils, protein, zinc and vitamin B12. They are also low in fat.
Tips before you start cooking:
-Buy from a reputable fish monger.
-Fresh mussels smell like the ocean.
-For proper storage, remove from the net, place in a large bowl covered with a damp towel, and store in the coldest part of your refrigerator where they will last up to 4 days.
-Discard any open mussels.
