March 28, 2011 (MAYWOOD, Ill.)

On Friday, February 11 at 6 p.m., a 71-year-old woman had exited the Ultra Food Store at 7520 Roosevelt Road in Forest Park with her groceries. As she placed her groceries in her car, she was attacked by one of three persons that had been stalking her in the store, police say.

The attacker attempted to tear the victim's purse away from her as she clutched it, resisting his efforts. Frustrated, this offender then threw the victim to the ground, kicking her and stomping on her head, resulting in serious injuries, police said.

Forest Park police say they received information that a vehicle matching that of the attackers' had been seen in Maywood. On Thursday, two officers reportedly spotted the car and three people in it who matched the descriptions of the attackers.

The detectives stopped the vehicle and arrested Kenny Hollyfield, 53, who was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated battery of a senior citizen, attempted first-degree murder and attempted robbery.

Also arrested was Robert Mix, 54. He was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated battery of a senior citizen. His bond was set at $50,000.

The Forest Park Police Department has identified a third subject involved in this case but has not been able to locate her. All three suspects live together in Addison, Ill.
